EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) has been used in many large companies
to automate B2B transactions. Because of the high implementation
costs of EDI system, many small companies cannot participate in
EDI communications. But with the technologies available today, B2B
messaging on the Internet (sometimes termed Internet EDI) is feasible
and is a good opportunity for smaller companies to do B2B communications.
XML is expected to play an important role in this aspect because
of its openness, simplicity and internationalization. |

As
one of the major concerns for B2B messaging on the Internet
is security. Making use of the latest PKI technology, InfoTrus's
Secure XML can secure XML data during transmission. Using
cryptographic protocols such as SSL, S/MIME and PKCS7, all
XML data are encrypted before transportation. The Internet
has become as secure as other networks such as VANs and intranets.
Also, using the latest W3C/IETF XML signature standard and
digital certificate, Secure XML adds digital signature to
XML documents , which can be verified by the receiver to provide
non-repudiation of origin. In addition, Secure XML can be
extended to support WML to provide secured wireless transactions. |
